Palm Springs, CA | January 25-27, 2018 – Michael’s House Treatment Center, an innovative behavioral health treatment provider, is proud to announce the third annual LGBTQ Symposium at the Riviera Resort Hotel in Palm Springs from January 25-27. The national conversation surrounding the vast need for resources assisting the LGBTQ population aligns well with the 2018 Finding Freedom conference theme: supporting gender diversity.
Sessions featuring experts in the field will focus on specific topics such as gender politics, risk and preventative factors in clients with co-occurring disorders, retention and treatment outcomes, family dynamics, building culturally competent organizations and many more. The keynote speakers include IO Tillet, Yorba Richen and Dr. David Fawcett. Tillet will kick off the conference on January 25 with afternoon and evening events showcasing his distinguished work as an artist, activist, actor and speaker for the the LGBTQ community.
The Finding Freedom LGBTQ Symposium exists to cultivate a conversation that will lead to clinical, research-based information. The conference is open to the community, human resources and Employee Assistance Program managers, treatment professionals, doctors, therapists and anyone who is interested in the unique issues facing sexual identity and co-occurring disorders treatment.
