FRN’s Dr. Kathleen Bigsby Featured Speaker at UK and European Symposium on Addictive Disorder

Foundations Recovery Network Group CEO addresses crowd at largest European event on addictive disorders, behavioral healthcare concerns

London, UK | May 4, 2016– UK and European Symposium on Addictive Disorder (UKESAD) hosted a plethora of distinguished leaders in the behavioral healthcare field this week in London, England for its annual three-day conference. The largest European event of its kind, UKESAD draws more than 500 people each year.

Dr. Kathleen Bigsby, Foundation Recovery Network’s Group CEO, addressed the crowd of professionals on May 3 with a presentation titled “Passion as a Platform, Developing Your Organizational Culture Around What Matters Most.” During her talk, Dr. Bigsby focused on how FRN uses a “system of care” approach to positively impact measured outcomes and clinical services. This common system of care developed by FRN is used across all of the company’s residential treatment centers, outpatient centers, and support departments.

Dr. Bigsby has specialized in the treatment of addiction and mental health issues for more than two decades, serving as Group CEO of The Canyon in Malibu, Calif. since 2005. In addition to her doctorate in human development and master’s degrees in clinical social work and family systems, she is also a credentialed alcoholism and substance abuse counselor and a certified grief recovery specialist. Over the course of her career, Dr. Bigsby taught at Syracuse and California State Universities, and she also served as co-chair of the Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Providers of NYS Committee for Women and Family Issues. In her roles as an administrator, academic, and clinician, Dr. Bigsby’s career has always focused on advancing best practices.
